Some of our board books for this week! 🌸Holy We Some of our board books for this week!
🌸Holy Week has an emotion and scripture on each page walking through the story of—you guessed it—Holy Week. I love a lot of the books from this Baby Believer series, but when I pulled this one out again I remembered that it might be my favorite.
🌸E is For Easter - Super cute, just an Easter-related word for each letter of the alphabet, even if some of the words they chose seemed a bit of a stretch for the theme, haha.
🌸I am a Bunny was a Christmas gift for our son from my sister in law and I love it. It’s not Easter-specific, but it’s great for talking about seasons, and we just needed a bunny book for the week, ya know?
🌸The Garden, the Curtain, and the Cross - I love how this one very simply tells the story of the gospel and takes it all the way back to the garden of Eden. We have the board book version adapted from the longer picture book version. The text is simple, but I love that it’s introducing my one year old to the big picture of the Bible.
🌸ALL of these books get bonus points for gorgeous illustrations! I’m in a stage of life in which I believe board books may just be the highest form of art. 😂

We spent lots of time outside this weekend, and I We spent lots of time outside this weekend, and I have a sunburned right arm to show for it. ☀️ But I love watching this sweet boy crawl around in the grass, look up at the trees, and feel their bark. The simplest things teach him so much. 🤍

My first post as the new Learning Mamahood is avai My first post as the new Learning Mamahood is available on the blog! (If you didn’t catch the explanation on my decision to rebrand The Savvy Plate, head to my profile and check out my previous post.) And hey, look at that! I’m still talking about food! 🤷‍♀️ This post is all about the experience we’ve had since starting baby-led weaning almost 8 months ago and some of the resources we’ve used & things we’ve learned along the way.

Y’all, baby-led weaning has been so FUN! We have absolutely loved getting to share so many ingredients & flavors with our little guy. Read it on the blog at learningmamahood.com! (You can find that link on my profile. 😊)

Hi, friends! If you’re wondering “Who on earth Hi, friends! If you’re wondering “Who on earth is @learningmamahood and when did I start following her?” let me explain... My blog used to be called The Savvy Plate. If you don’t recognize that name either, that’s fair—I hadn’t posted in a hot minute. 😂

So here’s what happened... I got pregnant and didn’t feel like cooking, much less blogging. Then I had my son and cooking became less of a creative outlet and more of an overwhelming necessity. I’d say recipe development ended up on the back burner, but honestly it wasn’t on *any* burner, like not even in the crock pot.

But I’m still a writer at heart, and I still want to blog! The “food blogger” label felt like a lot of pressure to do something that just wasn’t a passion for me anymore, so I made the big decision to rebrand!

My blog is now Learning Mamahood, and I’ll be blogging about how I’m learning & growing alongside my one-year-old son. I realize that my content may not be relevant for many of you now, and I totally get that! My feelings won’t be hurt if you unfollow (& maybe let a mama of littles know about the blog instead. ❤️)

Thank you so much to everyone who read The Savvy Plate over the last few years. All my recipes are still available at learningmamahood.com!

Alright, y’all. It’s been a week since Thanksgiving, and Christmas is well on its way. It’s time to start thinking seriously about food again. (That is, if you’re not the type of person who wakes up everyday thinking about what’s for dinner anyway… I am.)

Last Friday we did the unthinkable (for me, anyway) and adopted a kitten. I’ve always been a dog person.  My family had several dogs as I was growing up, plus a gecko, some frogs, toads, a few fish, a dwarf hamster, a pregnant snail (which came home from some sort of school project), sea monkeys (do those count?), but never ever a cat.
